Hamilton Career Center Chapter of HOSA is focusing on spreading awareness, fundraising, and community service by partnering with us (NAMI AOP) for our June 3 NAMIWALKS. This is their part of the HOSA National Service Project: bringing awareness of mental health disorders to nursing students and our local communities. Made up of over 45 active members, our HCC chapter will be creating walking teams, fundraising through the NAMIAWALKS format, and promoting their efforts on behalf of ours June 3, 2017. Together we hope to create a more educated level of empathy and support among those in the medical fields and our communities toward those trying to manage a mental health condition.
Members of the HCC-HOSA are made up of 45 active students from Walhalla, Seneca, and West-Oak High Schools dedicated to serving our area through fundraising and volunteer work. The line-up of officers for HCC-HOSA this year includes Abby McMahan (president), Caley Wood (VP of EMS and Sports Medicine), Dansley Fricks (VP of Health Sciences), Mary Beth Page (VP of Medical Terminology and CAN), Madeline Odom & Michael Zhu (VP of Biomedical Sciences), Alexa Mack (Secretary and Treasurer), and Grace Towe (Historian/Reporter).
Our SC HOSA Mission: to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science education students, therefore, helping the student meet the needs of the health care community.
